Rococo Software Integrates Scanbuys Technology into Mobile Workforce Solutions

Dublin, Ireland January 18, 2005 -- Dublin-based Rococo Software has partnered with Scanbuy Inc., a US-based developer of barcode commerce solutions, to enable Rococos mobility solutions customers to read industry-standard barcodes with camera phones. This new functionality makes Rococos mobility solutions the best option for businesses capturing field data with small, light, hand-held devices, such as PDAs and smartphones.

Rococo will integrate Scanbuys Optical Intelligence technology into many of its existing mobile workforce solutions, allowing customers to easily collect barcode information without investing in specialised, often bulky equipment. Focused initially on the Irish and UK markets, the companies will target the marketing, healthcare and retail logistics industries.

Barcodes are an easy, cost effective means of storing information. The ability to capture and transmit barcodes through a mobile device provides a simple way to make real-time product comparisons. Analyst firm Frost & Sullivan estimates the barcode equipment market will be worth $2.75 billion US at the beginning of 2005, a result of the growing trend to automate business processes.
